Spring Edit

FENN

It’s hard not to feel joy about the arrival of spring. There’s undeniably something about the warmer weather, the evenings that slowly get lighter and the first hints of jasmine in the air that genuinely invigorates the soul (particularly post a few months of lockdown).

This change of season is the perfect time to change up your skincare routine and there are a few key things we recommend to support your skin at this time of year.

Exfoliate

Not only as we have been wearing masks but as the weather warms up and you're producing more oil/sweating more. It’s a great time to be diligent with exfoliation, to keep it smooth and minimise build up that can lead to breakouts.

The Emma Lewisham Illuminating Exfoliant is brilliant, as is the LESSE Refining Cleanser.

Hydrate

Not the first time it’s been said but for good reason. As the weather warms up we should be upping or H20 intake. Dehydration can have aging effects on the skin so it pays to drink up. The standard 8 glasses per day is a minimum, plus an extra glass for every coffee consumed.

To support your H20 intake, we recommend the Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask and the Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense serum.

Protect

We recommend SPF everyday, all year round, but consider this a reminder to regularly apply. As the weather warms up so too does the UV index. It can also be beneficial to use a lighter moisturiser in the warmer months as it allows skin to breath and balance. A tinted SPF is an ideal option for this time of year, providing light coverage, UV protection and evening skin tone whilst lightly hydrating your complexion.

Josh Rosebrook's Tinted Nutrient Day Cream is beautiful and we always carry a Mother SPF with us for the whole family (including the little ones!).

Gently detox

Focusing on supporting your body’s natural detoxification pathways can help your body to feel invigorated, shifting out of the sluggishness of winter (and lockdown). A few simple additions to aid detox include dry body brushing to boost lymph circulation, 30 seconds of cold at the end of your shower has a multitude of benefits from boosting circulation and immune function. Support your digestive system with lighter food choices; nutrient dense smoothies, fresh seasonal salads, green juices and herbal iced teas.

To give your smoothies an incredible nutrient boost, try addting Raw Manuka Honey by Activist - it's delicious.

Stay clean and fresh

Warmer weather often means we need a harder working deodorant and the Palmarosa Mineral Deodorant from Primary Elements fits the bill. With ingredients that naturally support your body and a refreshing, light summery scent.

Another key to the post-lockdown freedom is a fresh-scented toothpaste and mouthwash. The Peppermint Mouthwash from Lovebyt is a staple for our team.

Add a little extra glow

When you want to add a little glow but can’t quite get your head around opening your makeup bag we love this natural highlighter from Maryse. Ideal for quick touch up pre-zoom or a low key picnic look.
